It can be quite difficult to find the best hair loss treatments out there today. When it comes to treating hair loss, there are quite a few options available - hair transplantation, prescription drugs, topical solutions, home remedies, and natural dietary supplements. Which is the best option for you? Let us take a look.

Hair transplantation - It is the method of transplanting hair follicles from one area of your head to another area. The results are almost immediate but it does involve surgery. Because the results are quick it is considered to be one of the best treatments out there. The down side is that it is expensive and not everyone can spend the money for it.

Prescription drugs - Prescriptions like Propecia are another way to deal with hair loss. They can be effective as well but they do come with side effects. Some of the long term side effects include erectile dysfunction, gynecomastia, and reduced sex drive. So, you should take these drugs only if your doctor says it is absolutely necessary to do so.

Topical solutions - There are a lot of topical solutions and creams available to treat hair loss. The better one will contain Minoxidil which has been FDA approved to help slow down the hair loss process.

Home remedies - Home remedies are a dime a dozen and not all are worth trying. Some of the most popular ones are mustard oil, black pepper, henna, aloe vera, lime and coconut oil. Aloe vera, henna and coconut oil are known to nourish the hair and applying warm mustard oil to the scalp can help to stimulate circulation and promote new hair growth.

Dietary supplements - When testosterone mixes with a certain enzyme it produces what's called dht (dihydrotestosterone) which is the main cause of hair loss in men and it does play a part in hair loss for women, so being able to slow or stop the production of dht would be beneficial. Herbs such as stinging nettle and saw palmetto has this ability. So it stands to reason that the best hair loss treatments would have these herbs in them. For best results find a supplement that has herbs and essential vitamins and minerals in them.

These are some of the best options out there right now. Every one of them has their plus and negatives so make sure you look into them thoroughly and chose the best one for your hair loss needs.
