Trying to lose weight quickly can land you in a dieting minefield. There are all kinds of fad diets that claim you can drop pounds fast by eating one or two types of foods for a week or more. This kind of diet is not the best way to lose weight fast. They may seem easy at first, but you’ll find it really hard to stay on one of these awful plans for very long.
Also, you should avoid taking diet pills because these are often filled with unknown amounts of stimulants that could adversely affect your body. I know there are lots of ads touting this wonder weight loss pill and that magic diet pill, but if these pills really worked, why are there still so many people who are overweight?
There are some basic ways to lose weight fast and still remain healthy while on a diet or weight loss plan.
Walk around the block – Put on your sneakers and go for a walk around your block several times each day. No need to join a gym or learn fancy exercise moves. Simply get out there and walk at a nice pace. Bring your ipod so you can enjoy some great music, which will make walking a lot more fun.
Dance away the fat – There are many aerobic dance videos available, that are taught by expert instructors, where you can spend 30 minutes dancing away your unwanted fat. I’m sure you’ve noticed how slim and toned most dancers are, well, you can achieve some of that wonderful toning for yourself by following a fun dance video three times a week.
Drink more water – Drink lots of water during the day instead of coffee, soda or juice. Water is one of the best weight loss secrets that is cheap and easy to find. Water helps to flush fat cells out of your body, which will quicken the pace you lose weight.
Eat vegetables as a side dish – During lunch and dinner, it’s common to eat heavier side dishes like macaroni and cheese, French fries, mashed potatoes, rice, coleslaw, potato salad and other favorites. Substitute various vegetables, which can be either fresh or cooked. This means you’ll be eating a portion of meat, poultry or fish along with a generous helping of vegetables.
Toss Junk Food – If you’ve got bags of chips, tubs of dip, cartons of ice cream, stashes of cookies and candy bars, boxes of brownie and cake mixes, either give these away to family and friends who aren’t dieting, or toss them in the trash can. Keeping these tempting snacks around the house will only cause you to cheat, or worse, go off your diet completely.
